Mango Chutney

Ingredients

  • 3 medium apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 2 large mangoes, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup granulated sugar, sweetness to taste
  • ½ cup honey
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons curry powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. In a large Dutch oven combine the apples, mangoes, sugar, honey, raisins, vinegar, and ginger. Bring to a boil and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. Add lemon juice, curry powder, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt. Increase heat to medium heat and cook 15 to 20 minutes. Yields 5 cups.
