About Me

Hi,

My name is Ellen and I am the writer, photographer, and editor of this blog.  I love cooking, blogging, budgeting, menu planning and grocery shopping.   If I could conceive a spectacular master plan that would allow me to earn a living from combining these five loves, I most definitely would.  But for now, I am an accountant

Most of my recipes are gluten, dairy, and soy-free, but I occasionally blog about things I make but cannot eat.  I love all things Julia Child and my favorite meals consist of Southern and/or French cuisine. I hope you enjoy following me in the kitchen.

This is me with my adorable husband J.T.  We were married on April 28, 2012.  J.T. and I both share a strong love of food and cooking.  I wouldn't make it in the kitchen without this man.  He is our in-house griller, egg fryer, and onion/garlic chopper.  He also makes the best hamburger and home fries you will ever eat!  In addition to cooking, he helps out with washing dishes - one thing that continually piles up while I am in the kitchen.

Our little family would not be complete without our beloved pooch Otis.  Otis is a 90 pound black lab that possesses the personality of an 80 year old man.  We love him very much and he keeps our kitchen floors crumb free.

  1. The dog (Otis) according to veterinarians needs more BACON 9at least 4 times a day) to maintain his health and vigor.
